how can i show the way
when i am drawn
to your comfort
in moving aimlessly?
knowing instinctively
that the trip is as important
as the final destination.

any representation
will be a simplification -
the complexity
sacrificed for simple legibility
of acceptable routes.

any trace of emotion
blotted out -
to focus and remember
one can step on the breaks
or make the right turn,
falling back into safety
of everything transitory.

i'd draw a shortcut instead.
free us
from perennial questions
of knowing
